Way to go America! We're on the race to catch China - sort of - with official population reaching 300 million souls for the first time ever. The US is only the third country in the world to reach this milestone... but I still far behind China and India who both have more than one billion residents. Here's some cool stats:
- A new American is born every 11 seconds
- A migrant enters the US every 31 seconds
- The USA reached 100 million population in 1915, 200 million in 1967 and 400 million is estimated in about 2043.
- More than 50% of the people live in suburbs, and 26% live alone!
- The US population grows faster than any other industrialized nation, but still lags behind developing nations such as... China and India. No real chance to catch up, then!
Not so. By 2050 every person could have 4 acres. But no! Greed drives people for 100. And China is almost uninhabitable. We just need to do some serious leveling.
